An M18 Transitional double decal Luftwaffe helmet. Shell is painted field grey inside and out. Areas of missing paint indicate a dark green paint layer beneath. Some rust patches to outer shell. A 1st Class War Merit Medal in zamac zinc alloy with no hinge or pin. Domed construction with frosted patina on cross. Maker marked NS for Neuhaus & Sohne. There is a guide mark for the hinge on the reverse, suggesting this may have been rejected for some reason during manufacture.  read more
