A cased example of the 1939 War Merit Cross 1st Class. White metal cross has some silvering worn off but is in generally good condition. Plain-backed with LDO manufacturers stamp L/18 for BH Mayer of Pforzheim. Bottle-shaped pin. Waffen SS Crusher Cap - No Insignia

A Waffen SS NCO or enlisted man's crusher cap, with no insignia. Green wool cap is badly mothed on the crown. Black velvet cap band. No eagle or deaths head insignia, but the impression of a totenkopf badge can clearly be seen on the cap band. No chinstrap present. Black peak has some age cracking. Cream silk lining with Fosen maker mark and size 57. Leather sweatband.  read more
