DAF - KDF Ship's Flag

A large flag from the "Deutsche" cruise ship operated by the Deutsche Arbeitsfront KDF Strength through Joy organisation. 37 inch x 25 inch double-sided flag in buff cloth with a sewn-on circular silk panel with DAF and Kraft Durch Freude insignia. Stamped with KDF roundel, RZM mark and a 1939 date, along with the ship's home port of Bremerhaven. These ships were used for low-price workers' cruises as part of the Nazi domestic propaganda programme. A rare item.
